How to Prepare for a Podcast

Full transcript: In today’s episode we’re going to talk about how to be prepared for a podcast. Stay tuned. Hey, everyone. Thanks for joining me for today’s episode of Interview Connections TV. I am Jessica Rhodes here to help you rock the podcast from both sides of the mic. In today’s episode I’m going to teach you about how to be prepared for a podcast. Number 1, you need to be prepared for your podcast mentally. You need to be in a good mood. You need to be well-hydrated, so have your water. You need to be energized; get a good night’s sleep. Also, you need to be prepared physically, and I mean physically in your environment. You need to be in a place where it’s quiet. If it’s in your office, shut all the windows if there’s lots of traffic or what not; turn off your fan. Turn off your air conditioner. Lock your door.
I am in an office. There are other people working in different offices. I tend to lock my door and turn off my lights. I don’t get a lot of visitors, but occasionally I’ll get people that just open my door because they think I’m the financial advisor down the hall. I shut off my lights and lock my door. That way they don’t think anyone is in here. I don’t know if that applies to you. If you work from home you don’t really need to worry about that. Be prepared mentally and in your physical location because podcasters, they want a quiet environment. They want a guest, and guests want a host who is in a good mood, who’s upbeat, who’s hydrated and has a quiet environment.
