“I’m Bored With My Show!” & What To Do About It

Hi. I’m Jessica Rhodes and I’m here to help you rock the podcast from both sides of the mic. After you’ve been podcasting for a while, sometimes your creativity is just in a little bit of a slump. You can’t think of new ideas for shows, you’re getting bored with your guests, you have interview fatigue, but you don’t want to stop podcasting. What do you do?

Well, my big tip is to Mastermind and have strategy sessions and coaching calls. You want to pick the brains and you want to talk with other podcasters, people that are doing it as well so you can get ideas. You want to listen to podcasts of successful hosts, people that are doing a really good job with their show. That’s what I was doing. I specifically listened to shows on say the Podcast One Network of big celebrities and podcasting in a big studio.

They’re doing something right. They have a big audience so I want to listen to those shows to learn from them. Needing to spice things up and keep podcasting going is one of the reasons Corey Coates and I were the co-hosts of the Podcast Producers. We’re doing a Mastermind the day before Podcast Movement because we want to see long time podcasters stay podcasting with their show and get the ideas they need to keep their show going past that 100 episode mark.

If you want to learn about how you can Mastermind with us and other podcasters and entrepreneurs about your show, go to ThePodcastProducers.com/Mastermind. I’m Jessica Rhodes. I’m here to help you rock the podcast from both sides of the mic.

  1. This is good advice. I’ve organized a few meetings with local podcasters and it has been invaluable. You get something with face-to-face contact that you just can’t get online. I think the real value of doing something like this attached to a conference though, especially before it, is you’ll be able to go through the main event connected to the people from the mastermind and help each other make connections. So you not only have new motivation, perspective, and knowledge, you also have a group of people to move forward together with.
