12+ New Clients and a Book Deal

About the Client

Karen McNenny is a mediator, divorce coach, and therapist dedicated to transforming how families navigate divorce. Through her Good Divorce Experience™, she helps couples not only get divorced but also learn how to maintain healthy post-divorce relationships, especially when children are involved. With more than 25 years of expertise, Karen focuses on co-parenting, financial planning, and relationship literacy, guiding families towards compassionate outcomes. A TEDx speaker and host of The Good Divorce Show Podcast™, Karen draws from her own divorce journey to offer hope and healing. She lives in Missoula, Montana, with her family and dog, enjoying the outdoors in the Rocky Mountains.

Goals

When Karen joined Interview Connections, she aimed to amplify awareness of her divorce coaching services, educate the public about this still-emerging field, and share her voice and story beyond her own podcast platform. She also wanted to grow her visibility in preparation for a future book project and generate qualified leads from audiences aligned with her mission.

Strategy

Karen had been hosting her own podcast but wanted to move into the guest seat to more effectively promote her work and message. Interview Connections helped her:

  • Book 30 high-quality interviews in less than a year, primarily on divorce-related and personal development shows.
  • Leverage a full team to uncover unique, aligned podcast opportunities, many of which she didn’t even know existed.
  • Manage interview pacing, allowing her to pause or slow bookings as needed to balance her own client work and content production.
  • Get in front of audiences who were genuinely interested in her services and advocacy.

Results

Through podcast guesting with Interview Connections, Karen amplified her message, challenging cultural norms around divorce and promoting a new paradigm, viewing divorce as a tool, not a weapon. Many hosts, including therapists and attorneys, described her work as a “paradigm shift,” increasing public understanding of divorce coaching. Her appearances directly led to 12+ new clients citing specific episodes, while others entered her ecosystem for future support. One listener even inspired a book deal, resulting in her upcoming release, The Good Enough Divorce: How Leaving My Marriage Saved My Family (Jossey-Bass, May 2026). Beyond visibility and lead generation, podcast guesting provided strategic clarity, becoming the catalyst for her book deal and serving as a powerful advocacy platform to influence the divorce conversation.
