Help! I rocked my interview but the sound quality stinks!

Unless you host your own podcast or do a ton of interviews and have invested in a good microphone, you may blow it with sound quality your first time behind the ‘mic.’

Here are some tips for getting great sound quality as a guest expert- who doesn’t want to spend a fortune on a microphone and a mixer! […]

How to Promote your Podcast on Social Media

Social media is a really important piece of the puzzle when you are promoting your podcast and hands down, the best and most effective way to promote your podcast on social media is with graphics with text overlay; what my team at Interview Connections likes to call ‘promo graphics.’

Promo graphics are images that have your podcast logo or artwork, maybe your headshot as well, and your guest’s headshot. It’s also important to have the guest’s name, episode title or episode number and your website URL. […]

Schedule Once or Time Trade?

If you are not using an online scheduling tool to schedule your podcast interviews, or any appointments in your business for that matter, you are wasting serious time and money. The amount of time spent going back and forth in emails saying “Here are three times that work for me, what works for you?” And then having the other person saying “None of those times work for me, how about these times?”

If you are still doing that to schedule your interviews, or if you are paying your assistant to go back and forth scheduling your appointments that way, I beg you- stop now! […]

Interview Connections Highlights

Last week was another fantastic week in the world of Interview Connections podcasts. I was absolutely thrilled that my friend and client, Jason Silverman connected me with his guest last week, Michelle Lederman. Michelle was kind enough to hop on a Skype video call and chat for about 30 minutes with me! She is a wealth of information and energy and I immediately booked her on 4 of my client’s shows!

Listen to her interview on Jason’s podcast, which aired last Thursday. You can download the podcast at JasonMSilverman.com! […]

Interview Connections Highlights

Melanie Benson Strick was a guest on Jim Palmer’s Stick Like Glue Radio and they talked about how to get out of overwhelm, which is often a huge problem for entrepreneurs. I learned a ton of great tips from this interview. The one nugget that has stuck with me is: Your work will expand to the hours you’re willing to work. If you find yourself working 12 hour days, then you will create enough work for yourself to take up 12 hour days! But if you commit to an 8 hour day, or less, you will force yourself to be productive enough in those 8 hours so that you can enjoy your life outside of work after 5pm! Listen to the interview here: GetJimPalmer.com. […]

Why you need to go to live events

I just got back from New Media Expo in Las Vegas, NV last week and it was the most exciting 3 days in my entrepreneurial history! It was the first live event I traveled to alone (at my last event, I went with my dad/business coach) so needless to say I was a bit nervous, but if I can knock on doors for 6 years fundraising (yes that was my last job) I could go to a live event and talk to people about podcasting!

Upon returning, I’ve had a lot of chats with other entrepreneur friends about live events and what I’m hearing is “Oh I know I should go but money is tight” or “Sounds amazing! That’s definitely one of my goals for 2014, but not sure which events I’m going to go to.” To be completely honest, you know what I’m actually hearing? “I know I need to go, but I’m just a little too nervous to take the ‘risk’ and invest in myself.” […]

My Business Coach

I went full time with my entrepreneurial journey the day my son was born- March 10th, 2013 and the past 9 and a half months have been a complete whirlwind!

A huge reason that I have increased my business revenue by over 150% in the past nine months is because I have a business coach who can see things in my business that I can’t see. I’m thankful because my dad, Jim Palmer – The Newsletter Guru is my business coach. He has totally whipped me into shape and has taught me how to build a real business. No magic success pills or short cuts involved.

Interviews Bring Entrepreneurs Together!

The journey for an entrepreneur is a difficult one. We all have our ups and our downs and a quote I heard recently was that entrepreneurs are the only people that can be extremely happy and depressed in the same 24 hour period (I’m paraphrasing).

I recently launched a very exciting new business called Interview Connections (www.InterviewConnections.com) where I schedule guest experts for interviews on my client’s podcasts and radio shows. Things are starting to heat up and I gotta tell you- I’m having such a great time!!

First, people just love being interviewed; it positions them as successful entrepreneurs and gives them 30-60 minutes to be spotlighted; who wouldn’t love that?! […]
